No matter how careful you are, no matter what price or quality equipment you purchase, sooner or later, you’re going to have to fix it. And if you don’t have a lot of money, you might not have it to start with.

  With that in mind, an area that a lot of people interested in survival neglect is how to fix the stuff they have.  Even less practiced is how to actually fabricate stuff from raw materials.  If you can fabricate from raw materials, you’ll never want again... :-)
